Bringing your brand-new baby in for their first professional photos is such an exciting milestone! At CSD Photography, we want your newborn session to feel relaxed, cozy, and completely stress-free.
You don’t need to pack the whole nursery — I promise! Here’s a simple checklist to help you feel prepared and confident walking into your session.
For Baby
The good news? I provide most of what we’ll use during your session — wraps, headbands, hats, blankets, and props are all ready and waiting.
Here’s what you should bring:
- Extra diapers
- Wipes
- A pacifier (even if baby doesn’t usually use one — they can be helpful!)
- Extra formula or pumped milk if bottle feeding
- A change of clothes for baby
Pro tip: Dress baby in something easy to remove (like a zip-up sleeper) to avoid waking them when we start.
For Mom
Mamas, this one’s important — bring something you feel beautiful and comfortable in.
Soft, neutral tones photograph beautifully. Creams, soft grays, blush, light blue — all timeless choices. Try to avoid busy patterns or bright neon colors.
And don’t forget:
- Lip balm or lip gloss
- A brush or comb
- Any touch-up makeup
You just had a baby. Give yourself grace. You are glowing in a whole new way.
For Dad
Dads keep it simple! Neutral shirts, light sweaters, or button-downs photograph wonderfully. Avoid large logos or bold graphics.
Comfort is key — when you feel relaxed, it shows in your photos.
For Siblings
If big brother or sister is joining us, bring:
- A small snack (nothing messy!)
- A quiet activity
- A backup outfit just in case
We’ll capture those sweet sibling moments early while they’re feeling fresh and excited.
What NOT to Bring
You truly don’t need:
- Tons of props
- Large stuffed animals
- Multiple outfit changes
